Map of Tokyo metro. Tokyo metro map (Kantō - Japan) to print. Tokyo metro map (Kantō - Japan) to download. Tokyo Metro (東京メトロ Tōkyō Metoro?) is one of two rapid transit systems making up the Tokyo subway system, the other being Toei. Tokyo metro is the most used subway system in the world in terms of annual passenger rides as its shown in Tokyo metro map. Tokyo Metro is operated by Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd. (東京地下鉄株式会社 Tōkyō Chikatetsu Kabushiki-gaisha?), a private company jointly owned by the Japanese government and the Tokyo metropolitan government.

The world busiest underground transportation system, Tokyo metro network facilitates 8.7 million rides per day on 13 lines of two operators as you can see in Tokyo metro map: Tokyo Metro and the Toei Subway. If you have never been to Tokyo (or have navigated to this article during your first trip there), the map of this system can seem confusing, appearing to be little more than a mess of twisted spaghetti. However, riding the Tokyo metro (not to mention, the rest of Tokyo extensive rail system) is not difficult at all.

The Tokyo metro is open from 5:30 am to about 12:15 am. Each Tokyo metro line is distinguished by a color and a letter (G for Ginza Line) as its mentioned in Tokyo metro map. In addition to their name, the Tokyo metro stations are identified by the letter of the line followed by a number. Even along interminable connections, it is almost impossible to lose track of them, thanks to the signs that are always well placed.

The Tokyo metro network currently has 13 lines, and transports more than 8 million people every day. The Tokyo metro, along with the Yamanote Line, the easiest way to get around the city and its surrounding regions. The punctuality and frequency of the trains is the envy of the rest of the world. The construction of the Tokyo metro began in 1925 and its first line opened in 1927, connecting Asakusa and Ueno as its shown in Tokyo metro map.

The Tokyo Metro is extremely punctual and has regular trains arriving less than five minutes apart most of the day and night. However, Tokyo metro does not run 24 hours a day as its mentioned in Tokyo metro map. While through service with other companies complicates this somewhat, the last Tokyo metro generally starts at midnight and completes its service by 01:00, and the first Tokyo metro generally starts at 05:00.
