Tokyo Station (東京駅 Tōkyō-eki) is a railway station in the Marunouchi business district of Chiyoda, Tokyo, Japan, near the Imperial Palace grounds and the Ginza commercial district as its shown in Tokyo station map. Tokyo station is the main intercity rail terminal in Tokyo, the busiest station in Japan in terms of number of trains per day (over 3,000), and the fifth-busiest in Eastern Japan in terms of passenger throughput. Tokyo station is the starting point and terminus for most of Japan Shinkansen high-speed rail lines, and is served by many local and regional commuter lines of Japan Railways, as well as the Tokyo Metro network.

Tokyo Station is a broad, imposing brick building in the Marunouchi business district just east of the Imperial Palace. Tokyo Station serves numerous lines, most notably as the terminal station for several shinkansen bullet train lines as its mentioned in Tokyo station map. Tokyo Station is a couple of station stops south of the electronics area of Akihabara and and a little north of the luxury Ginza shopping district.
 
Tokyo Station distinctive three story, red-brick facade on the Marunouchi side of Tokyo Station dates back to 1914, when the building was first opened after 6 years of construction, with four platforms (see in Tokyo station map). The design of Tokyo Station is said to be based on that of Amsterdam Centraal Station in The Netherlands, which opened in 1889. Tokyo Station was badly damaged during World War II but underwent a major renovation, completed in 2012, returning the buildings to their former glory.
 
Tokyo Station has two information centers with English-speakers available in the Central Passage and also the Park Exit, open 9am-6pm as you can see in Tokyo station map. There are many shops, restaurants, cafes, left-luggage coin lockers in Tokyo Station underground area. There is also direct underground access from the Tokyo station to the Shin Marunouchi Building.
